The Beginner classes in the Shorts Series will equip complete beginners with all the tools they need to get going on the guitar and be jamming away to a whole range of songs in no time! After learning some basic terms, we’ll jump straight into chords. Learning these open shape chords is a vital starting point for any student. Once you’ve learnt the shapes and become comfortable with recognising each of them, we put that knowledge to the test with five chord studies. These studies will help students to become familiar with changing between different types of chords and using them to make music. While chords are the building blocks to many songs, most students dream of playing guitar solos like their guitar heroes. In the scales section, students will look at open position scales and lay the foundations for their soloing knowledge. Rounding out the section, students will then take on five solo studies – using their new scale knowledge to improvise their first solos.
